About this Work
The brain registers what the eye has already moved past. A shape in the periphery, wing or tail or the quick arc of something crossing, arrives in consciousness half a second after it has gone. Fleeting Glimpse is built from exactly that kind of partial seeing.
Against a ground of cold pale blue, dark marks gather and scatter across the surface: a diagonal slash, the flick of a tail, graphite and black acrylic in fractured conversation with yellow and pale green. The form is there, unmistakably a creature in motion, but it arrives at the edge of legibility, the way glimpsed things do. You know what you saw. You couldn’t quite describe it.
